Description
The reduction shaft sprocket pairs with the motor pinion to replace the pulleys that come with the Sur Ron Light Bee as the factory standard. Using a chain instead of the belt is a huge improvement in two ways:
- it is way more robust than a belt, especially in sandy or muddy conditions,
- it is more efficient than a belt as it has a smaller contact surface and a lower coeficient of friction.
If you haven’t already converted your Sur Ron Light Bee to primary chain drive, we have a Primary Chain Kit that includes everything you need. Our ready to install kit features 13T/30T sprockets as it’s the same gear ratio as the original belt and pulleys. The 14T/32T will give you a slightly increased top speed by reducing the gear ratio.
NB: in order to get a proper chain tension, you either need 14/32 or 13/30 but mixing both sizes would lead to a chain in between two lenghts, hence impossible to properly fit.
What do I need to replace the belt by a chain?
- a reduction shaft sprocket (this part),
- a motor sprocket,
- a chain with 42 links (or 44T for 14/32 sprockets).
