Description
Our insane Mega 72 – 72V 50Ah Battery – is capable of delivering 300% as much power as the original battery and packs 176% as much energy in a well-contained size. It will definitely lead you to the moon.
This high-end battery is hand-built in France to perfection. We are using A-grade, top of the line Samsung cells able to steadily deliver huge power output while keeping their capacity for years to come. Cyprien and I have been riding our 60 and 72V packs hard in enduro and in MX competitions. We rode them in the snow by -20°C and in the dust by +40°C so rest assured they’ll never let you down.
Our battery is built into a streamlined, robust stainless-steel case, providing best in-class protection against damages, featuring an integrated handle for easy manipulation and a built-in digital screen for hands-on readings.
Range
Everyone wants to know how far their battery will lead them. It depends on many factors: the type of terrain you ride on, the elevation you’re aiming at climbing, rider’s wheight, etc.
Nevertheless, knowing what you usually do with the stock battery, you can double the range as our Mega 72 Battery brings improvements on two levels:
more capacity measured in Wh (1843Wh stock vs 3600Wh Mega 72),
more efficient cells that won’t dissipate as much energy into heat when riding hard.
So if you used to ride 40km with your stock pack, you can safely assume you’ll now be riding around 80km. Will your arms resist that long? Although you’ll feel like the autonomy is never ending, the integrated LCD meter allows you to check the battery’s status in both percentages and volts.
Power
The 72V Mega 72 pack was made with high-power controllers in mind (BAC 4000 & 8000, Nucular 24F, Sintech, TORP TC500…) and steadily delivers 17kW of power. Equally at ease on technical enduro singles, challenging tracks or in high speed situations, our 72V pack was made to provide power for as long as you need (or as long as your motor or arms can handle).
The 72V tension increases working efficiency, maintaining your controller and motor at optimal temperatures while allowing for higher motor RPMs. Top speed and torque will definitely depend on both the controller you use and your gearing. But if you ask me: “how fast can it go?” or “how much torque will it provide?”, there’s only one answer: yes.
In addition, our batteries all come equipped with a state of the art bluetooth BMS, enabling direct visualisation of battery temperatures or cells voltages on your phone.
Safety
The programmable BT BMS monitors all of the pack’s parameters: from cells voltages to core temperature, we have fine-tuned everything to get the most out of our architecture in a safely manner. The BMS is in charge of safety and will reduce or cut off current if required. For instance, it would damage the cells charging at freezing temperatures, so the BMS would prevent it until the temperature rises to a safe level.
The 60V vs 72V dilemma
We could debate for hours regarding what’s best between 60V and 72V. Long story short, the 60V battery will allow you to drastically increase the autonomy while retaining full compatibility with both the stock bike’s controller and charger.
On the other hand, although they require specific chargers and controllers, 72V packs allow to deliver even higher power while also boasting an amazing autonomy. A lower voltage battery will need to output more amps to reach the same power as one with a higher voltage. As amperage is what creates heat, at some point you reach the limit over which you’ll be overheating your motor and controller. That’s the very reason why 72V allows for higher power than 60V packs.
The same goes for 60V packs, sure we could optimise them more towards autonomy, but they wouldn’t be able to provide more than 5 or 6kW of power. Some manufacturers optimise their 60V batteries for capacity only while their 72V offering only aims at high power output with inferior energy-density. This is where the misunderstanding comes from.
That being said, all our batteries are top-notch in terms of power and capacity, so whatever your choice, it will rock you!
So, are you a 60V or 72V rider?

Hello Brothers,
If I choose the 72V 50Ah 25kw version. How did you deal with the supra connector on the battery ? The supra pro connector is only capable to manage max 15kw of power. (Max around 200A).
Does it come with the Qs8 connector, or some other connector that can handle 300A or more?
Do I need to Install a new power harness?
What is your take on this?
Thanks in advance,
Sandy

Hey there!
Very good question :)
We offer the LB batteries with QS8 as well (product page update is coming but you can already ask for it!). I recommend to go for the QS8 if possible as it allows to get a better efficiency with larger cables and a direct connexion without the circuit breaker.
Both the Supra and the QS8 have a limited power output (QS8 is rated 200A continuous).
Now continuous doesn't mean much for vehicles as even on long straights, current demand drops as soon as you reach peak torque.

Hey there! Yes you're right to highlight this. The "data" cable is only used for the stock battery to send BMS data to the stock controller. Aftermarket controllers don't use it, we don't build a data port. All the BMS information are accessible over bluetooth for real-time consulting. The most useful info the controller needs from the battery is how much there's left, and this it can deduce directly from the voltage, so no additional cable required 👍
What are exactly the differences between 17 and 25 kw max power versions apart from obviously the max power, does it perform at lower temparatures ormis range any different or? I am quite new to this but i am looking to maybe purchase this battery for my street legal lb 1 answer

The only difference is the max output power due to the use of very high discharge cells. At "normal" power, the range will be the same.
Actually four questions, before I pull the trigger:
1. What kind of guaranty do you offer for the batt?
2. What BT BMS has to be used? iPhone compatible? Link to App Store?
3. What exact rating are the cells?
4. Are the gaps in the batt filled with some kind of gel to avoid damages due to vibration? 2 answers

Regarding cell rating I meant what type of cell? 50E? 40T? Other?

Thanks for your interest!
1. We offer a 2-year warranty on all of our batteries
2. JBD BMS, best in class BT app on iOS and Android
3. A-grade, bench tested charge and discharge.
4. We use cell holders and fill the case with some vibration dampening foam to make sure it sits tight and the bikes vibrations won't alter its integrity.
Can we collect data on battery such as temperature, cell state etc. on the torp app (torp controller) ? 1 answer

There's an app that allows to connect your phone to the BMS and see everything realtime. But the Torp cannot communicate with the battery over bluetooth.
The stock sur ron cables for the power and the controller are not suitable for the battery. Not sure how to connect. Any advise? 1 answer

Not sure what you mean. The power cable is plug and play, now with aftermarket controllers you just don't need the data cable any more.

Hello Giacomo. They are about the same, both the Mega 72 and the Mega 80 have a 3,2kWh capacity. One has higher Ah but with a lesser voltage so in the end the Wh (what matters) is the same as they both have about the same number of cells inside.

With the Ultra Charger it can be done in just above an hour (from 0 to 100%) and about 50min if you're closer to 10% than 0.

Loads of power
I recently bought two of the mega 72v 25kw batteries and they are great. So far the weather has prevented me testing the max output but even 17kw is super fast and more than enough for most applications. Went out for an hr yesterday and was pretty tough condition and even after 10miles the battery was still 53%. Overall very pleased with the batteries. Im bassd in the UK and found that although the products were from France, they still worked out better value for money and were delivered quicker that stuff from UK sellers!! Also shout to Clément at MTO great customer service and a pleasure to deal with. Dan

What a blast!
Fantastic piece of technology. Rock solid. The power increase is insane. We’re riding both batteries at 12KW which gives us double the range on trails compared to the stock battery. The stainless steel case looks excellent on the bike.
