The DID NZ3 Racing Chain is a 420 racing chain that will help you get the most out of your bike, both in terms of performance and autonomy.
As a racing chain, it was engineered from the ground up to maximise performance and efficiency: light weight, very low friction and maximum rigigity to make sure that 100% of the motor output power is transmitted to the wheel.

Engineered and manufactured in Japan, the DID NZ serie is built from the ground up with motocross performance in mind. The 420 NZ3 Racing Chain is made for light, high powered (up to 150cc petrol engine) bikes. So rest assured that it’s a perfect fit for your electric dirtbike.
It boasts an incredible 2 236kg (4 930lbs) of tensile strenght for a mere 500g/100 chain links (1.18lbs), all the while offering an extended lifespan. This makes it the best choice for our high-torque dirt ebikes, especially on the higher powered ones where standard chains suffer elongation.
This incredible performance is made possible by DID’s patented SDH technology. The chain’s pins are treated with a hard chromium carbide surface layer, making them extremely resistant to wear and elongation whereas the inner core remains soft to allow for shock absorbtion and smooth handling.
Whether you ride your bike on enduro trails, MX tracks or on the road, the NZ3 chain is the most robust and performance-oriented chain on the market for high powered bikes.
Chain strength | 2 236kg (4 930lbs) of tensile strenght |
---|---|
Surface treatment | G&B links riveted by SDH-treated pins for optimal performance and long lifespan |
Weight | 550 grams for 100 links (1.18lbs) |
Chain type | Non-sealed chain for improved performance |
Assembly | Expert-built in Japan by DID technicians |
Attach mechanism | Comes with a quick connecting link |
Chain length depends on the sprocket size you are using. For Talaria Sting and Sur Ron Light Bee, here are the number of links you need for each sprocket size.
Sprocket size (tooth) | Sur Ron chain | Talaria chain / MTO Racing Swingarm |
---|---|---|
42T | 104 links | 106 links |
48T | 106 links | 108 links |
52T | 108 links | 110 links |
54T | 110 links | 112 links |
56T | 112 links | 114 links |
58T | 112 links | 116 links |
60T | 114 links | 118 links |
64T | 116 links | 118 links |
Drop-in compatibility on all bikes using 420 chains (Sur Ron Light Bee, Talaria Sting…).
For the highest possible performance, the NZ3 is a non-sealed chain. This results in the lowest coeficient of friction possible. On the other hand, non-sealed chains are slightly more demanding as there is no seal to keep lubricant between the pins and bushings. In any case, chains require regular cleaning and lubrication regardless of chain type (especially if riding off-road).

The links are thicker in comparison with the standard 420, so I really feel that it will last longer. Worth the little extra cost!
