Description

CNC machined and laser-cut in England, the Hope Floating Rotor is like everything that Hope produces: state of the art engineering and manufacturing for the very best performance.

Like you, we love our bikes and we deeply care about their components. The floating rotor design is a gold nugget: better thermal performance, lightweight and increased warping resistance, it has it all.

The secret lies into its two-part design. On one hand, the center part, called the carrier, is made of aluminium, known for its lightweight and thermal conductivity properties. On the other hand, the rotor itself, which is in contact with the pads, is made out of stainless steel, known for its long-lasting and abrasion-resistant properties.

The two of them are linked by rivets, allowing the rotor to freely expand when subject to serious heat without putting any stress on the carrier. On the contrary, extreme heat leads to permanent deformation on a normal disc as the expansion of the rotor induces mechanical stress to its center part.
